چکیده

BackgroundTo assess the diagnostic accuracy of Mayo Clinic echocardiographic criteria to differentiate constrictive pericarditis (CP) and restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM).MethodsWe searched electronic databases from inception July 1, 2022. The index tests were criteria. We performed a bivariate random-effects model estimate pooled sensitivity specificity with their 95% confidence interval (CI). area under curve (AUC) summary receiver operator characteristic (SROC) curves its CI was also calculated.ResultsSeventeen case-control studies involving 889 patients included. ventricular septal shift 82% (95% CI, 60%-94%) 78% 65%-87%), respectively. respiratory variation in mitral inflow ≥14.6% 71% 51%-85%) 66%-91%), e’ velocity ≥8cm/s 83% 80%-87%) 90% 83%-95%), e' velocity/lateral ≥0.88 74% 64%-82%) 81% 70%-88%), hepatic vein ratio expiration ≥0.79 73% 65%-81%) 19%-96%), AUC SROC varied 0.75 0.85 overlapping intervals across tests.ConclusionsOur meta-analysis suggests that all parameters have good for differentiating CP RCM.

Echocardiographic diagnosis of constrictive pericarditis: Mayo Clinic criteria.

BACKGROUND Constrictive pericarditis is a potentially reversible cause of heart failure that may be difficult to differentiate from restrictive myocardial disease and severe tricuspid regurgitation. Echocardiography provides an important opportunity to evaluate for constrictive pericarditis, and definite diagnostic criteria are needed. METHODS AND RESULTS Patients with surgically confirmed co...

Constrictive Pericarditis Versus Restrictive Cardiomyopathy?

About one-half of the patients with congestive heart failure have preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (HFpEF). Although the etiology of HFpEF is most commonly related to long-standing hypertension and atherosclerosis, a significant number of suspected HFpEF patients have a restrictive cardiomyopathy or chronic pericardial disease. Recognizing these syndromes is important because early ...

Diastolic heart failure: restrictive cardiomyopathy, constrictive pericarditis, and cardiac tamponade: clinical and echocardiographic evaluation.

An understanding of the basic principles of diastolic function is important in order to recognize diseases that may result in diastolic dysfunction and diastolic heart failure. Although uncommon, restrictive cardiomyopathy, constrictive pericarditis, and cardiac tamponade are among the disorders that may affect primarily diastolic function with preservation of systolic function. Diastolic heart...

Disparate patterns of left ventricular mechanics differentiate constrictive pericarditis from restrictive cardiomyopathy.

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this study was to compare the longitudinal, circumferential, and radial mechanics of the left ventricle (LV) in patients with constrictive pericarditis (CP) and restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM). BACKGROUND Diastolic dysfunction in CP is related to epicardial tethering and pericardial constraint, whereas in RCM it is predominantly characterized by subendocardial dysfu...
